Warhammer 40K Tau XV25 Stealth Team REmodel

so this is the model i've built... the arm is not actually attached. I 'shopped it here so you cna see my vision for this model... the arm isn't attached so that the model will be easier to paint.
here's the back... i added a lot of the bits here, so the model is now very unique and unlike the standard.
this is what the model is supposed to look like...

The black on the model at the moment is a light watered down pre-wash, i'm going to continue to build up layers of black before i begin the actual painting... i'll keep posting as i make more advancements.

Warhammer 40K Tau XV25 Stealth Team model

Recently I acquired some bits, that are meant to build a member of a Tau XV25 Stealth Team. I decided this would be a great time to build it, and chronicle the progression. I'm not going to guarantee updates on this guy every week or month... it's more of a side project when I have the time. So above is a picture of the bits... bits is a term Warhammer model makers use to refer to loose pieces for models that are acquired over time. This guy was 1 of three guys... he was just never built so I took the liberty of taking his pieces as well as some extras in hopes of making a robot with a shield and a gun... now where have I seen that before.... never finished btw.
Well have fun watching....

So I scanned em and adjusted some stuff...the blue is gone but there's traces of it in a lot of spots... I'll probably need to go back and white em out or just erase em... looks snazzy... oh and i need to add darks/blacks.

Edit 1: Dagnamit I found a typo...the roads are ever winding...not windind... that's not even a word... son of a...

I was just sketching around one night, and I drew one figure that lead to many figures... these figures are just from my head... so are they head drawings? These are the two main girls of Asterick. Charlie is Rick and Aster's neighbor in their run-down apartment complex. She's hip, she's cool, she's hot. Aster yearns for her affection but usually gives him the ol' brush off. Ria is a girl Rick met in the park, and he ends up writing a song for her, as will be observed in the first issue to be published in the SJSU anthology.

Check it out... by the picture alone you can't really tell that the model is rigged with a skeleton... well if you look carefully you can see some traces.... rigging is hard... i had to remove the shoulder pads from the rig in order to enable the positions of the shoulder pads the way i wanted... no biggie.... right now only the left side has the joint limitations set... prolly finish the other half tomorrow... no wonder rigging is a job in of itself... its tough... even with this very basic model... maybe the next time u see this guy he'll be posed ultra-awesomely...stay tuned!

First 3D model in a loooong time

Check it out! This is my first model created since i took 51 a looong time ago, and in 51 I had no clue what i was doing. But with the help of David Shen , he helped me churn out this beauty... Well it's not as fancy as someone's 500-year old evoker... but to me it is fantastic. Clean geometry, no tris except on the sword and even then theres like less than 20 tris... next to come is rigging and texturing... fun stuff.... and stay tuned another model is on its way! wahoo!

Well no one subscribes to my blog, and I have no problem with that because the stuff on here is not the greatest... it's more for me to "vent" my ideas and if someone wants to read it they can yeehaa! And now for what I've been working on this summer...The painting above is the rough start to a piece that is about the ever so lovely Space Marine from the Warhammer 40k Universe. Painted in acrylics on a 6x8 canvas board from Michael's 3-pack for 3 bucks... awesome deal! They had a 50% coupon thing going around and I had two coupons so i bought 2 packs for a total of about 3 bucks for 6... HUZZAH!!

This piece started off as me wanting to paint a robot.... but then i couldn't think of how exactly to pose it or what the robot even looked like... i had recently seen 300 over and over so i wanted a staff/spear of some sort, and also the cool red cape deal... and eventually that idea translated to a shaolin monk sorta thing, and yeah. His hat could almost be a Spartan shield perched upon his noggin... makes you think. Acrylic on one of those small 8x10 canvas things.

I decided to tackle the task of a possible cover for the class zine. Still in a very roughed out feel, for the most part the layout is what I want. The man pointing could be less generic, and the mess he's pointing at, which when folded will become the back cover is supposed to be a waterfall... you might see it now that I said it.... if you don't let me know so I can fix it.

Update. Added color, clearer robots, and less generic pointing man
Update2. Adjusted color, color on robots, did some smoke & mirror type stuff.
